U.S. Imposes New Sanctions on Iranian Drone Network
IranDailyNews News
The U.S. Treasury Department unveiled a new sanctions package today targeting a network of companies and individuals in Iran, China, and Turkey allegedly involved in procuring components for Irans drone program. Officials stated the network supplies parts for the Shahed-136 drones used by Russian forces in Ukraine and by Iranian-backed groups in the Middle East. We are taking action to disrupt Irans destabilizing weapons programs, said Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo. The sanctions freeze any U.S. assets of the targeted entities and prohibit Americans from dealing with them.
